Vince Lombardi once described teamwork as “individual commitment to a group effort.” At Shoring Engineers, we’ve assembled a team that combines solid expertise with smart project planning and an ability to work together in a way that any team would envy - whether in the office or at the construction site.

George A. Woodley, Founder and President (left)
George A. Woodley liked drilling from an early age. For him, it paid off. George founded Shoring Engineers in 1966, and is still active in the company today, keeping a close eye on difficult projects, where his experience is invaluable. Many of Shoring Engineer’s most cost-effective and time-saving innovations are a result of his expertise. Married with 5 children, George has enjoyed leading the company for five decades. And he still likes drilling.
George A. Woodley Jr., P.E., Vice President (number 2 from the leftt)
George Jr. graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He joined Shoring Engineers soon after in 1989, and has lent his expertise to high profile projects such as The Staples Center and the LAC-USC County Hospital, among others. He is also registered in California as a professional engineer. When not spending time with his wife and two daughters, George is an avid fisherman and enjoys tennis.
Jason E. Weinstein, P.E., Vice President (number three from the left)
Jason graduated in 1985 from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and Building Science. He joined Shoring Engineers in 1987 and has been with the company ever since. With engineering licenses in California, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon and Pennsylvania, Jason has played a major role in the company’s expanding beyond California. Back at home, he is married with two daughters, and enjoys an occasional round of golf when time allows.
René Contreras, P.E., Vice President (number four from the left)
René graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1995. He joined Shoring Engineers shortly afterwards in 1997 and quickly proved invaluable to many of our clients. Perhaps that’s because he would rather be anywhere other than behind a desk. René is registered in California as a professional civil engineer. He enjoys mountain biking and a host of other outdoor activities - including quality time with his wife and two children.
